Wet Room Floor Formers are used to create Level Access Shower areas in wet rooms.
Wet Floor formers have a pre-formed gradient in the top surface to drain water towards the waste and are ideal for creating contemporary showering areas with the benefit of being suitable for creating walk in showers for people with disabilities or mobility problems.
Wet room floor formers act as floorboard replacements and are fitted directly onto joists or into concrete or screed floors and then tiled upon or covered in vinyl sheet flooring to create the complete wetroom solution.
Achieving the correct gradient for your wet room floor is essential for efficient drainage and the use of wetroom floor former technology makes it easy to install. The wet room former has built in gradients to directly channel the water into the drain. With several types of wet room floor former to choose from, you can achieve a perfect result in any situation.
The surrounding floor should be the same height as the floor former edge to create a truly level access wet room floor.
Installing Wet Room Floor Former - Wooden Floor
To use on joists, remove a section of the existing floor and ensure the top surface of the floor former is installed level with the rest of the existing floor. If the levels differ, this can usually be overcome with the use of plywood, either to build up the rest of the floor, or placed under the floor former to lift it up to match the rest of the room.
Installing Wet Room Floor Former - Concrete or Screed Floor
For concrete installations, excavate the area where the floor former is to be situated so that the top surface of the floor former is installed level with the rest of the existing floor.
Each floor former type has slight variations in installation procedures and features. Installation instructions are usually available on the product page.
